Klair Casteen was born and raised in Wellsburg, WV and moved to Wilmington in 2014. She received her BFA from West Virginia University in 2012 with minors in Art History and Arts Administation. With a focus in photography and formal training in a number of visual mediums, Klair has spent her time since graduting as a freelance photographer and advocating the arts. Klair has been attending the Anchor Church for over two years now and will be serving the 2017 summer as the Assistant Director of the Hope Center. In August of 2013, Klair felt a call to move to Wilmington with no specific direction just a simple commission. It has been her heart for the last three years to seek Christ through the people around her, especially children and those experiencing extreme poverty and homelessness. Since moving to North Carolina, Klair has been directed in many ways towards youth and education, where she spent two years at Leland Christian Acedemy and now is self employed as an in-home educator and care provider. In June of 2016 Klair married Dustin Casteen, the director of Switchin’ Gears and they have spent their time together with their son Lucas,9, serving in the community and following the path God has laid before them. They have two dogs; Daggle B and Pippin and a cat, Bet. They love the outdoors; hiking and camping specifically which is where they spent a month honeymooning, on and around the Appalachian Trial. In her spare time, Klair enjoys painting and creating, spending time with family and friends, reconnecting with nature and laughing as much as possible.
